3rd Runaway Electron Meeting, 17-19th June 2015, Pertuis (France)



Meeting objectives:

The aim of the meeting is to make progresses on projects of common interest in the modelling of runaway electron dynamics in plasmas. It is organized by the IRFM-CEA of the EUROFUSION Enabling Research project ER15-CEA-09 on kinetic modelling of runaway electron dynamics.

    - Title: Runaway electron experiments at JET with the ITER-Like Wall

    - Abstract: Runaway electrons have been created using injections of high-Z noble gases at JET. Their features are close to runaways created in the same way the carbon wall. Runaway beam suppression was achieved with massive gas injection only if fired before the beginning of the current quench. Injections of up to 4300 Pa.m3 on an already accelerated runaway beam were ineffective.
